Kidney beans are just a variety of the common bean. Kidney beans like other legumes are such a great source of fiber, protein, fiber, iron, B vitamins, potassium, magnesium and many other beneficial nutrients.
We prefer cooking with the dried versions for many reasons. They are more economical, they don't contain unnecessary advitives like sodium plus you can buy them absolutely package free this way too!
Kidney beans need to be soaked and then cooked for around 1-2 hours typically before you use them in recipes. Just simply pop them in the fridge to soak for a couple of days before you use them, drain and cook them up in a pot with loads of water then once cooked you can use them straight away or we like to keep cooked frozen beans in the freezer. That way they are great to use whenever you have a recipe that calls for them.
