Canola Oil is a vegetable oil derived from a variety of rapeseed which is edible and commonly used in canola products. Canola oil is an affordable, general all-purpose oil for cooking and frying, and is typically low in saturated fat, and like olive oils, high in monounsaturated fats.
Canola oil is chemically refined and deodorised, which is the final step in refining all vegetable oils. This process produces the mild, bland taste that makes it a good cooking oil without adding different flavours, but does mean it contains very low levels of trans fat.
