Christmas Dark Chocolate Bark

This is a great 'healthier' zero waste chocolate bark recipe to whip up at Christmas time which looks super pretty and is perfect as a bit of a treat in place of store bought chocolate. It is actually one of the easiest recipes to make and you can add in any nuts, seeds or fruit you have on hand to make it as chunky as you like. We love adding dry roasted peanuts to ours and using more nuts and some coconut - delish!

It looks pretty in a jar which can be given as a gift - just make sure it stays in the freezer as it does melt quite easily.

Recipe
1/2 cup Extra Virgin Coconut Oill
2 Tbsp Cacao Powder
1 Tbsp Maple Syrup or Honey
A good pinch of Sea Salt
1/4 cup chopped Almonds, Walnuts or Dry Roasted Peanuts
1/4 cup chopped Cranberries, Raisins or Sultanas
1/4 cup 70-90% Dark Chocolate

You can sub any of the above nuts and fruit for any seeds, nuts or dried fruit you have on hand. You can also add coconut flakes or shredded coconut too.

Method
1. Melt the coconut oil, cocoa and sweetener together in the pan over a low heat.
2. Add the other ingredients and mix well.
3. Pour mixture onto a tray with edges and pop in the freezer to set overnight.
4. Once set break up into little chunks and store in an airtight container in the freezer.
