Pinto beans are high in fibre, folate and B vitamins. They are also very high in molybdenum which counteracts the effects of sulfites and is a rare mineral not found in many foods. They are great for reducing high cholestrol levels and blood sugar levels.
Pinto beans are cooked like the other beans, boil the water with a little salt, turn the heat down, add the lentils and let simmer for at least 2 hours until tender or to your preferred liking.
Pinto beans go great in a mix with brown rice, in chili con carne, soups or as meat replacement.
